Hello Dennis,

The measurement from the deck at base of the mast to the goose neck is 39". Hope this helps.

Re: Boom clearance

I am 5'10" and have more than adequate clearance when seated. My boat is a trunk cabin model and has a taller than standard mast. I can measure the distance to bottom of boom from top of seat if you are interested. You may consider having the leach cut higher so that the boom sets a bit higher ...

Re: Anchors and anchoring.

Hello Dennis, I have a dual cheek mounted bow roller. I use the 25lb CQR for the most part. I have a small Delta if conditions are not suitable for the plow. The attached photo is not great but you can see the starboard roller visible. The CQR is on port side. I am not certain but I think this is on...

Re: Fitting a Tiller Autopilot

Dennis I will try to find a photo as the boat is in VA..Better if I could send to your email... pm me with it. The bracket is removable...it sets into what appears to be a vertical stanchion mount base which is bolted just below the caprail. I think the bracket is made of 1" stainless tubing an...

Re: Fitting a Tiller Autopilot

Hello Dennis, I am not aware of a tiller pilot made not requiring an extended ( cantilevered ) bracket. My boat has a removable L shaped stainless tube that sits in a socket on toerail. When not in use it can be removed though I usually just leave it in place. I have an older usable tiller pilot ava...

Congrats on the purchase. Looks like good bones. You will love the way they sail. Where will you home port her ?

Re: Frances 26 Regatta results

Hello Eric, I converted my Frances 26 to a sloop rig when I purchased her. The sloop rig was better suited to the sailing I do and with a roller furling jib and reefing mainsail, I am able to adjust sail area for most conditions . The boat was handicapped as a sloop in the race. Mark SV Seabird

Re: Bridge clearance

I believe my Frances has a 41' clearance. Not standard . I am told original owner installed a taller rig than factory std.

Pintles and Gudgeons

My rudder had worn the rudder pin hole to the point that there was too much slop in the tiller so I had some new pintles and gudgeons cast. For anyone out there that may need to replace original pintles and gudgeons I have patterns available if you need to have a set cast up. I will make a drawing a...

Re: Engine repower

Hello Eric, As I mentioned , I had a Universal Atomic diesel. I chose thes the Beta 14 since it was designed to mount on the same mount centers. It is a compact unit and well thought out for ease of maintaining as well. I did have to re prop as the trans ration was different. I went with a re-pitche...

Great looking work and progress. Glad you had the initiative and imagination to take her from the yard in CT and
give her a new life.
