Boom clearance

Hi everybody,
As the newest owner or a flush deck Frances (Malish), I have a question; do you have to duck while sitting in the cockpit for the boom to pass?

I am 5'11" (standing) and the boom is a definite lethal weapon.

Is it just how I rigged my boat or basic to the design?

thanks

Re: Anchors and anchoring.

Hi All, I have been working to ready my Victoria Frances (Malish) for cruising and have anchor questions. She came with a 35# CQR which is too much for a senior sailor to haul. I have been given a 22# S-L Delta which is a great anchor, but I cannot see how to stow and deploy it. The bowsprit does no...

Re: Fitting a Tiller Autopilot

Mark,
Can you send me a picture (denniskevingibbons@gmail.com) of the bracket? It is removable?

Thanks,

Dennis

Fitting a Tiller Autopilot

Greetings,
My first question to the group. Are there any currently produced tiller pilots which DO NOT require a cantilevered mount outboard of the toe rail? Malish came with an antique which is short enough, but I am planning for when it gives of the ghost.

Re: New Project 'Coaster'

Wow!
I just reviewed the pictures. You have done a miraculous job re imagining the deck. I like the gentle curve. You should forward the pictures to Chuck as I am sure he would appreciate your efforts.
If I am ever in the area, I would love to pop by for a look

Re: Frances 26 Wanted

Hi all,
I am retiring the end of this year (Finally!) and will be looking to sail off into the sunset. Preferably on a Frances 26. Anyone here in the US considering selling? Give me a blast (denniskevingibbons@gmail.com) and maybe you can avoid the broker fee and I can save some money also.

Jay (82 year old version),
If you are thinking of selling, drop me a note.

I would pose the question to Chuck Paine himself. He tends to reply rather quickly

Re: S/V Dagny lost at sea (spotted 12/23/15)

Fancy was one of the France's that sold before I could get to see her. It needed some work, but appeared to have good bones. She deserved a better fate. Glad the owner is safe. In reading his blog, this appears to have been a disaster waiting to happen. Sorry if that sounds harsh
