Re: Wildwood's lucky new caretaker

Hello Jay Congratulations on a great looking ship. I was initially considering the purchase of a Voyager 26 but was drawn to the Frances after reading all the articles including the feature in Mate's " Best Boats" book. I am interested in what type of mainsheet traveler system you have...d...

Re: New Project 'Coaster'

Hello Eric, I thought the boat looked familiar. Glad she found a home... pretty depressing to see her there going to seed. I have a number of sails , some tanbark , main, jib staysail and 2 headed drifter for the asking if you are interested. You may have to adapt the luff depending on your situatio...

Re: New Project 'Coaster'

Hello Eric and congrats on the new project. Looks like more of a blank slate which will allow you to finish to your own
preferences. Is this the boat that was in Haddam CT ?

Best to luck and please post on your progress.

Sincerely
Mark

Re: Engine repower

Hello Eric, I'll get some pictures of that area but I will not be back at the boat for about 10 days. I know that Beta supplies a flex coupling which was used between gearbox and stuffing box . I am using the original stuffing box as it was not feasible to install a dripless unit. The Beta 14 fits v...

Re: Engine repower

Hello, The Beta 10 was discontinued several years ago. It is actually the identical engine , just running at a lower RPM (3000) versus 3600 RPM for the 14. They dropped from line as almost a redundancy in product offering. I will try to get dripless in if possible. Pretty tight back there. Can't see...

Engine repower

In the process of repowering. Original Universal Atomic Diesel ( 5411 ) is tired. Researched all options and best fit and overall package is the Beta 14. I will try to post pictures here. The mounting for the Beta 14 is on same centers as the Universal so no work on engine beds. Some minor plumbing ...

Re: Wanted Frances Project boat

Eric,

OK. The only ones I am thinking of are both trunk cabin models. Stormy is very nice but very pricey. There is a Carol listed but it is in UK. Best of luck in your search. If I hear of anything I will send a note .

Sincerely

Mark

Re: Wanted Frances Project boat

:D Hello Eric, What is your definition of a "project boat" ? I may have a line on one located in CT. It has been on the hard for a number of years with no activity by owner. Where are you located? You can give me a call (845) 895 2033 work. I looked for quite some time before finding one. ...

Re: Frances 26 wanted

Hello I looked at Truant and she was a bit rough. I was looking for a trunk cabin so Stormy was out as well. I purchased Seabird and you have posted pics already. Vey happy with the boat. I will be re-powering her and installing a BETA 14 to replace the Universal raw water cooled diesel. I will post...

Re: Does a Frances 26 have a ORR or IRC rating?

Gary and Donna, I think I recall seeing your Frances at Dobson's some time back. Just got some pics up of "Seabird" in the gallery section. I may be down to Annapolis for the show...not certain but will confirm if I am going. I wanted to check out the Beta 14 diesel for a possible repower....

Re: Does a Frances 26 have a ORR or IRC rating?

Hello Gary, I'll try to post some photos to the gallery section tomorrow. I picked her up in Oxford, MD and sailed her down to VA where I have a house on the water. Was your Frances the one for sale in CT ? Only had one issue with the boat when the exhaust elbow went and diesel exhaust and water wer...
