Had a great time for a good cause at the Hospice Turkey Shoot Regatta in Irvington VA . Some of you may be interested in how the boat performs. While this is a good time handicapped race , the Frances turned in a respectable performance in a division of 11 boats crossing the finish line first but getting a second on corrected time. Handicap assigned for the Frances was 250. Winds were about 10 knots average. Seabird placed ninth overall for the first race which included 100 boats in 10 divisions. Results below in order of finish.

Re: Frances 26 Regatta results
Mark,
I am thinking about registering my Frances with phrf New England this season, hoping to participate in a couple of the local chase races. I am interested in the 250 rating that you sailed with in 2014. As I recall your boat is cutter rigged, what sails resulted in the 250 rating ? I have seen 237 ratings for the Victoria 26 but have yet to find a listing for the Frances aside from your report.
Thanks in advance for any insight that you may contribute.
Eric

Re: Frances 26 Regatta results
Hello Eric,
I converted my Frances 26 to a sloop rig when I purchased her. The sloop rig was better suited to the sailing I do and with a roller furling jib
and reefing mainsail, I am able to adjust sail area for most conditions . The boat was handicapped as a sloop in the race.
